Website New Features

As an introduction for both members and site visitors here's a list of some of the new features on the Golf Tourism Scotland 2010 website.

Members

The key to the website is the Business Generated Content produced by the membership. The information members can update has substantially increased and as well as the featured copy on their entry pages they can now also:

  • Add Events
  • Add Packages
  • Add News Items
  • Add Staff Vacancies
  • Feature their own Google Picasa Gallery
  • Add YouTube footage

Keeping in Touch

  • Facebook
  • GTS Blog
  • Improved Newsletters and Surveys
  • Integrated News Feeds

The Golf Tourism Scotland Blog now drives the main news features on the home page and is suplemented by a new GTS Facebook page which you can "Become a Fan" of. In short it's another route to market for members' offers and information and a means of keeping in touch with the rest of the industry.

The news and events pages feature not only live news feeds from GTS but also from SGU, HIE, SE and the PGA European Tour

Visitors

The addition of the Virtual Caddy came directly from the membership. Whilst the GTS site is primarily for Business to Business, it was recognised that it also attracted large numbers of visitors looking for tourism information and advice. The Virtual Caddy section will evolve to highlight the best advice GTS can give about golfing in and around Scotland.
