Business & Marketing Plans
Through much of 2007 GTS have been involved in producing a number strategic planning documents for the golf tourism industry. These have included most recently a disection of the 50% target for growth and an outline of what golf needs to do to achieve movement towards any sustained growth. The report is outlined below and is available for members to download.
In addition GTS also commisioned its own research into the benefits or otherwise of Ireland's hosting of the 2006 Ryder Cup. An interesting read with some really strong contributions from overseas travel trade, Irish tourism bodies and is as relevant now as it was last year. The Ryder Cup offers opportunites but only if the product and the market are fully understood. GTS must maintain the strong argument for a place at the table when the detail is being put in place.
The same goes with structure. For two years GTS have been presenting and honing its proposals and the arguments for the creation of a strong structure for the golf tourism industry. Our proposals emphasise the need for a structure aimed at developing the product and reducing the duplication of efforty we have all witnessed over the past five years.
All of the documents produced by GTS are available to download below. We'd welcome your comments and input on any of them.
